Annual CEET Symposium

Presented by the Center of Excellence in Environmental Toxicology (CEET), the annual CEET symposium highlights emerging areas and themes in environmental health sciences.

17th Annual CEET Symposium: Climate Change and Human Health | November 18, 2022

Thank you for joining us at this year’s symposium!

Every year, we choose a theme to embrace so that we can learn more about a field and how it might align with the current and future directions of the CEET. This year’s theme was Climate Change and Human Health which addressed the connection between climate change and health consequences and discussed the impact on public health measures, health care utilization, and research needs. Keynote presentations from Dr. Michael Mann (Presidential Distinguished Professor in the Department of Earth and Environmental Science at the University of Pennsylvania) and Dr. John Balbus (Office of Climate Change and Health Equity Acting Director) set the stage for dialogue and discussion, followed by a pivotal panel on “Informing Health Care and Public Health Measures,” and featured talks on climate change through the lens of Environmental Health Sciences. We also heard from some of our community partners who already experience the consequences of flooding and heat stress.
