November 21, 2024 | 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM | Glen Gaulton Auditorium & Lobby, Biomedical Research Building
This year’s symposium will bring together community members, researchers, healthcare professionals, and representatives from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) to meet the challenges that we face in the Philadelphia metropolitan region and will feature:
- Keynote Presentations: Penn’s Vision for Community Engagement and Community-Engaged Research; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Community-Engaged Research; Community Needs & Expectations; and NIEHS Expectations for Community Engagement
- Panel Discussion with Community Partners: Benefits and Challenges of working with Academic Institutions
- Penn Models of Community Engagement
- Roundtable Discussions connecting Community Members and Researchers
- Poster Session
- Networking Reception
CALL FOR POSTERS: All are invited to submit abstracts for consideration! Notification of acceptance will be communicated via email. Click here to submit your abstract.
Submission deadline: October 14, 2024
- We welcome abstracts from students and postdoctoral fellows on any aspect of environmental health sciences research or community engagement/community-engaged research—in any area/discipline.
- We encourage community partners to develop posters to showcase their organizations.
